Boston
Situated between Spalding and Skegness, the medieval market town of Boston was once a major seaport for over 800 years.
Today the town remains as lively as ever with markets held every Wednesday and Saturday. A popular farmers' market is help every third Wednesday. Filled with lots of fresh produce mos of which is produced locally. Not surprising considering that Lincolnshire produces one fifth of the UK's food.
The famous St Botolph's Church, The Boston Stump, is an historic landmark which impresses visitors to Boston with its size and grandness. Famous for it 83 metre tower and medieval painted ceiling is well worth a visit. St Botolph's Church has been a key landmark for seafarers and visitors arriving across the flat fenland.
The newly opened Black Sluice Lock is situated in Boston. This lock was reopened in 2009 with the Black Sluice Navigation, which was the first step in the Fens Waterway Link, a major project to connect the waterways in the east of England.
